Girl Guiding: How Will You Wear Yours?

Whether you are a Rainbow, a Brownie or a Guide you can fit Kilts for Kids into your programme of activities, earn badges and help Scotland’s vulnerable children.

Rainbows

  • Look – dress Olivia in a kilt or a tartan sash. The Rainbows can take her around Scotland or even further afield if they’re going on holiday
  • Learn – cook something using Scottish ingredients and raise money for Kilts for Kids at a bake sale
  • Laugh – learn a ceilidh dance and put on a show for parents
  • Love – create a Kilts for Kids mural where the Rainbows write or draw things they love about their family and friends

Brownie Badges

  • Artist – have a competition where the Brownies paint something Scottish
  • Cook – bake something using Scottish ingredients
  • Craft – make Scottish sock puppets and put on a show
  • Dancer – Highland dancing demonstration
  • Designer – design a tartan outfit and have a fashion show
  • Hostess – hold your own fundraiser
  • Musician (individual) – learn a Scottish song
  • Speaker – research and talk about CHILDREN 1ST to your pack
  • Sports – hold a Mini Highland Games
  • Writer – write about the work of CHILDREN 1ST or write a story/review about Kilts for Kids

Guides Badges

  • Confectioner – bake a cake and use piping techniques to create a tartan
  • Cook – create a recipe book of Scottish recipes and sell them to friends and family
  • Craft - make Kilts for Kids friendship bracelets
  • Culture – hold a photography competition with Scottish categories
  • Music Group – write and perform a song about growing up in Scotland
  • Party Planner – hold a Kilts for Kids event, showcasing ideas such as the ones we’ve suggested
  • Performing Arts – create and perform a new ceilidh dance, perhaps to a modern piece of music
