CHILDREN 1ST is the working name of the Royal Scottish Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Children.
What information do we compile?
1. Personal Information
Personal Information is anything which enables us to identify you in some way, such as your name and an email address. If you supply such information, we are bound by the Data Protection Act (1998) and the EC Directive on Privacy and Electronic Communications to ensure that such information is only used for the purpose for which it was requested and also to ensure that the data is held securely.
We capture personal information about you:
- when you make a donation online or complete a direct debit form
- when you order an item from our online shop
- when you make an event booking
- when you email a request for information
- when you ask to be added on to our mailing list.
Individuals subscribing to our online mailing list will have the chance to unsubscribe at any time, and this option will be provided on all emails sent through our email marketing system.
If you are receiving any information from CHILDREN 1ST and want to be removed from our mailing list, please contact us, telling us your name, address and what type of information you have been receiving.
2. Aggregate or summary information
This information is collected automatically by our system, e.g. number of visitors to the site. This information is used to monitor use of the web site and will not be used to identify you as an individual.
3. Online surveys
From time to time we may run online surveys, to collect feedback about a range of topics related to our work. Our online surveys are powered by SurveyGizmo survey software.
We may collect and record information in order for us to understand more about how our site is used. In order to do this we may send cookies to your computer. A cookie will contain information that allows us to recognise that you have used the site before, but will not contain any other personal data.
