Microsoft Scotland

Microsoft Scotland has been supporting CHILDREN 1ST through large scale 'gift in kind' donations for a number of years.
In 2006 Microsoft Scotland entered a team in the UK-wide Microsoft Challenge event. Participation in the Microsoft Challenge requires teams to pledge to raise large amounts of money as well as taking part in a gruelling physical team challenge.
This created an opportunity for joint working between CHILDREN 1ST and Microsoft Scotland and marked a significant step in this extraordinarily successful partnership. After an initial meeting it was decided we would hold a Corporate Quiz night with a sports theme. Our target was to raise £10,000: in fact, we raised £44,710.
Following the success of the event, Microsoft Scotland decided to concentrate their major fundraising efforts on this event in support of CHILDREN 1ST. By hosting the Corporate Quiz night as an annual event unrelated to the Microsoft Challenge, Microsoft Scotland felt they could make a real difference to the lives of Scotland's children.
In 2008, the Microsoft Scotland Quiz Night raised over £60,000 for CHILDREN 1ST. Microsoft Scotland Director Raymond O'Hare said "Microsoft Scotland are proud to once again support such a worthy charity. I am delighted to see that the event raised such a considerable amount and has built on the success of previous years."
