CHILDREN 1ST has always had an important campaigning role. Since the first Act of Parliament concerning child cruelty was passed in 1889, we have consistently sought to influence policy and legislation in the best interests of Scotland's children.
We campaign to make children's welfare and safety a public priority, working to influence key decision makers, families, communities and individuals across Scotland.
Our campaigning objectives are always informed by the work that we do with children and their families across Scotland.
Our successes include achieving changes in the law to benefit child witnesses, and working with other organisations to successfully secure the establishment of the independent Scottish Commissioner for Children and Young People.
But there is much more to do. We need your support to raise awareness and help change behaviour and attitudes. We need you to become a partner in campaigning.
