Forth Rail Bridge Abseil
Calling all dare devils! Could you abseil 165 feet SAS-style from one of Scotland’s most famous landmarks?
For all those who are looking to do something out of the ordinary, we have a challenge with a difference – to free-fall abseil 165ft from the iconic Forth Rail Bridge. No previous abseil experience is needed to take part, just a commitment to raise as much money as you can to support vulnerable children, young people and families living in Scotland.
If you have what it takes, sign up and join us on Sunday 10 June for a day to remember!
How do I register for a CHILDREN 1ST place?
CHILDREN 1ST has a limited number of charity places for the abseil. To take part in this exciting challenge, contact the Events Team on 0131 319 8068 or at events@children1st.org.uk.
Places are allocated on a first come first served basis so don't delay in signing up to guarantee your space.
Is there a minimum age requirement?
Yes – you must be over the age of 16 to take part. We require parental consent for participants aged 16 or 17.
Do I need to have prior experience of abseiling?
No. You will receive all the safety training and tuition you need from the instructors before you abseil, so no previous abseil experience is required.
How much sponsorship do I have to raise?
We ask that you raise as much as you can for CHILDREN 1ST and the minimum sponsorship target is £125. You will pay a £20 deposit to secure your place which is included in your total, leaving you with £105 to raise. Every penny you raise helps us build a brighter future for Scotland’s vulnerable children and families.
How will CHILDREN 1ST support me?
We will give you sponsorship forms and a CHILDREN 1ST t-shirt to wear on the day. Our fundraisers are also on hand to give you all the help, advice and materials you need to get started with raising sponsorship. We will also be there on the day to cheer you on and take photos of your dare-devil moment.
What can I expect on the day?
The event is organised and run by abseil event specialists. All participants are given an abseil time slot before the day so you know when to arrive and at what time your supporters will see you abseil. All safety equipment and clothing (such as a helmet and gloves) are provided on the day.
For more information about any aspect of the event or to book your place, please contact the CHILDREN 1ST Events Team on 0131 319 8068 or email events@children1st.org.uk.
