Great Scottish Swim
Make a splash at the Great Scottish Swim. Choose a two mile, one mile or half mile challenge at one of the venues of the 2014 Commonwealth Games.
Scotland’s largest outdoor swim takes place at Strathclyde Country Park, the venue for the Commonwealth Games triathlon event. Individuals of all abilities can choose between a two mile, one mile or half mile outdoor swimming challenge.
How will CHILDREN 1ST support me?
Join Team CHILDREN 1ST and we will provide you with a pack full of fun ideas to get fundraising underway, along with any other materials or help you may need with fundraising. We'll be at the event to cheer you on and welcome you back to dry land.
Is there a minimum age for participation?
Yes. Participants must be 16 or over to take part.
Will I need to wear a wetsuit?
Yes, wetsuits are compulsory for the event. They will keep you warmer and aid your buoyancy in the water. Find out more here.
How much does the swim cost to enter?
The entry fee is half mile (£20), one mile (£27) and two mile (£32). This includes an event pack, medal and t-shirt.
How do I register?
Register on the Great Scottish Swim website and specify that you are taking part for CHILDREN 1ST. Then, contact us by phone on 0131 319 8068 or by email at events@children1st.org.uk to let us know you have secured your place and so we can help you get started with fundraising.
How much sponsorship do I have to raise?
We ask that you raise a minimum of the following sponsorship targets:
Half mile: £100
One mile: £200
Two mile: £250
However please raise as much as you can for CHILDREN 1ST. Every penny you raise helps us to build a brighter future for Scotland’s vulnerable children and families.
