Pedal for Scotland
Get on your bike and join Scotland’s biggest cycle ride!
Pedal for Scotland challenges you to an exhilarating 51 mile or 100 mile bike ride from Glasgow to Edinburgh. For little ones or less experienced cyclists, there is also a safe and fun nine mile cycle at the new Edinburgh Family Ride. So whatever your cycling ability, Pedal for Scotland has something for you.
Launched in 1999, it has grown to become one of the largest participation events in Scotland, attracting cyclists of all ages and abilities to get on their bikes for a fun, active day out with family, friends or workmates.
Choose the route for you and sign up today:
Classic Challenge Ride: This 51 mile bike ride takes you from Glasgow to Edinburgh on a scenic route; using closed streets, cycle paths and quiet back roads. It’s a great challenge not only for regular cyclists but also for those who have not been active for a while.
Sportive Ride: While using the same start and finish point as the Classic Challenge, this 100 mile timed ride takes you along a completely different and much more challenging route. The course leads you through the Southern Uplands, along the best sections of a number of Scottish Cycle Racing Circuits and includes steep mountain climbs as well as rolling stretches across wild moorland.
Edinburgh Family Ride: For those who are new to cycling or for families with young children, Cycling Scotland offers the nine mile Edinburgh Family Ride. Entry for this ride is absolutely free!
