Free kinship care workshop on 'Impact of substance misuse' (Edinburgh)
Over the past few months we have taken the time to consult with kinship carers across the country to find out exactly what they expect CHILDREN 1ST to provide.
We were told by kinship carers that they wanted more information and advice on financial matters, hints and tips for schooling today and the impacts of substance misuse.
With this in mind we are pleased to say that there will be a free workshop for kinship carers on the impact of substance misuse to be held on Thursday 20 September 2012, 10:30am to 12:30pm in Edinburgh.
The time will be spent looking at the different ways substance misuse affects family relationships. We will look at how the trauma caused by parental substance misuse in a child's early years can affect health and behaviour. We will also look at the different organisations that can help families affected by substance misuse.
