4 Abbeys Cycle Challenge

Participants from the 2007 4 Abbeys Cycle ChallengeThe 4 Abbeys Cycle Challenge is a great opportunity for cyclists of all abilities to take in the beautiful scenery of the Scottish Borders.

The event is dedicated to raising funds for CHILDREN 1ST and each participant is asked to raise money through sponsorship and/or other fundraising activities.

Cyclists are asked to register for the event before Friday 18 September to allow enough time to raise sponsorship money. It is possible to register on the day but advanced registration is highly preferable.

55-Mile:

Taking in the four abbeys at Melrose, Jedburgh, Kelso and Dryburgh, the route comprises 55 miles of scenic terrain. But don't let the distance put you off, it's a beautiful ride and you can take your time! (Moderate)

11-Mile Family Meander:

A charming 11-mile circuit from Melrose Abbey around the Eildon Hills to Dryburgh Abbey. Perfect for families or those looking for a more relaxed ride. (Easy-Moderate)

Participants should check-in between 9-9.30am at 100 Aker Wood Garden Centre, Melrose, and both routes will begin at 10am. You will be given a map to take with you and directions will be available.

First aid, marshals and water stations will also be provided. If you or your friends can assist us, please let us know, and remember to bring your water bottle!

Each cyclist will be presented with a certificate upon completion.

Participation costs £7 for adults and £6 for concession (Under-5s go free).
