Katherine Brown (Miss Scotland) at the River Ness Duck RaceThe annual River Ness Duck Race is one of Inverness City's most colourful events.

This year the race will be started by People's Postcode Lottery charity ambassador Miss Scotland, Katharine Brown and People's Postcode Lottery Street Prize Presenter, Angus Purden.   The Duck Race takes place on Saturday 5th September.

CHILDREN 1ST supporter Miss Scotland, Katharine Brown, said:

"I am thrilled to support CHILDREN 1ST, Scotland's leading children's charity.  As an ambassador for Scotland I think it is important to highlight the work of organisations like CHILDREN 1ST who really do make a difference to local communities and the lives of Scotland's children.

The duck race event is another great example of partnership working with the People's Postcode Lottery.  It is wonderful to see local people winning but it is heart warming to know that local children and their families are too".

Tickets for the numbered plastic ducks can be purchased on the day from the team with Katharine and Angus at the riverside.  A free duck is given away with each £1 ticket purchased.
