Miss Scotland launches Kilts for Kids Day
Sunday 18 October 2009
Miss Scotland Katharine Brown, People's Postcode Lottery's Angus Purden and kids in kilts launched Kilts for Kids Day 2009 at the Meadows in Edinburgh by wrapping the trees in tartan and hanging tartan hearts.
Kilts for Kids Day is Scotland’s most exciting charity event and is a chance to celebrate all things Scottish and raise money for CHILDREN 1ST.
This year Kilts for Kids Day is on 27 November, the nearest Friday to St Andrew's Day.
It’s easy to get involved and do something tartan-tastic to raise money to help children and young people in Scotland. You can host a tartan day, have a dress down tartan day at work, organise a Kiltaoke or a Scottish themed quiz night.
Every penny raised through Kilts for Kids Day is used to support the work of CHILDREN 1ST throughout Scotland. Last year over 260 schools and organisations took part and raised over £85,000.

A big thank you to McCall's Highlandwear for supplying the children's kilts.
