Hello Sailor
Friday 30 October 2009
CHILDREN 1ST staff based in our head office received a pleasant surprise when two naval officers (pictured) from HMCS Athabaskan & HMCS Halifax stopped off to hand in buckets of loose change.
The 'loose change', which amounted to £404.89, had been collected by the officers while they were docked in Edinburgh's Leith port at the weekend. The ships, part of the Canadian Naval Fleet, were visiting as part of Leith's celebration of her seafaring heritage.
CHILDREN 1ST would like to thank Nicholas Foster, his colleagues who helped collect the money and all those who kindly donated their change.
