Irvine Housing Association go the extra mile

Wednesday 11 November 2009

The staff at Irvine Housing Association are getting right behind their charity of the year, CHILDREN 1ST, and held a Halloween Fun Day in their office on Friday 30th of October raising a fantastic £403.95. There was many a sight to behold from hippies to Scooby Doo and even a Chicken!

Irvine Housing Staff in fancy dress

Irvine Housing Association employee Frank Boyle dressed up as one of the “118 118” Guys, very fitting considering he had run the Dublin Marathon in aid of CHILDREN 1ST the weekend before. He managed to cross the finish line after 6 hours and 10 minutes of endurance and agony, and was proud to be wearing the t-shirt that some local children at the CHILDREN 1ST Directions Project in Irvine had customised especially for his challenge.

Frank Boyle in his marathon gearFrank’s dedication has raised a total £875.00 so far on his Justgiving website to date and he isn’t going to stop there. Frank is going to throw himself out of a plane (with a parachute of course) in the same manner he has thrown himself into fundraising for Scotland’s vulnerable and disadvantaged children…whole heartedly….all he is waiting for is better weather and he’ll be plummeting 10,000ft to Earth. He is scared of heights!

CHILDREN 1ST are delighted to have the full support of the staff at Irvine Housing Association and look forward to hearing about all the rest of their fundraising events as they unfold. Thank you all.
