Local hotels helping local children

Thursday 11 February 2010

Local hotels helping local childrenIn January of this year, CHILDREN 1ST was delighted to receive a donation of £5,000 from Crerar Hotels.

The donation will be used by our Killen Family Resource Centre, working with children and families across the Highlands who have been affected by physical, sexual or emotional abuse.

Crerar Hotels operates nine hotels in beautiful locations across Scotland, as well as one in Yorkshire. Through the company's charitable trust, Crerar Hotels gives back to the community by donating 50% of the annual distributable profit to charities either local to hotel locations or in key areas of customer origin. The Golf View Hotel & Spa in Nairn (pictured) overlooks the Moray Firth near Inverness and is located a short distance from the Killen Family Resource Centre.

Murray McPhee, General Manager of the Golf View Hotel & Spa in Nairn, said: "Crerar Hotels is always delighted to support local charities and organisations. The Killen Family Resource Centre fulfils an important role in helping children and families across the Highlands deal with the effects of abuse and we trust that our donation will assist in the continuation of their activities."

A big thanks to Crerar Hotels for showing their commitment to local communities and supporting the important work we do at Killen.  Their commitment is wider than the gift to Killen as the hotel chain also recently donated a fantastic prize for our Burns Reloaded event in Edinburgh: two nights for two people bed and breakfast with dinner and spa treatment for each guest.
