Volunteer information evenings at ParentLine Scotland
Monday 26 July 2010
ParentLine Scotland are recruiting additional volunteers to provide much needed support to parents across Scotland by answering calls and responding to emails on our helpline.
To promote this we are having an open evening for volunteers to find out all about ParentLine Scotland. We will talk about how we support volunteers in taking calls; responding to emails and about our joint work with the Strathclyde Police force and the Violence Reduction Unit. It will also be a good opportunity to ask any questions and find out about volunteering with us. Our next introductory training starts on Tuesday 7 September 2010.
Are you or any of your family or friends interested? To prepare people for the role of volunteer calltaker, we offer a 40 hour COSCA* recognised training in basic counselling skills to equip you for the role; it is also helpful in every aspect of life.
Our next volunteer information evening is on Monday 16 August 2010 from 6:00-7:30pm at CHILDREN 1ST, Head Office, 83 Whitehouse Loan, Edinburgh EH9 1AT.
For further information or to book a place at one of our Volunteer Information Evenings please contact aileen.kenny@children1st.org.uk or call ParentLine Scotland on 0131 446 2333.
