Rich Pickings as £10.3 Million Prize Up For Grabs
Friday 6 August 2010
In today’s climate, £10.3 million is the stuff of dreams. It’s an incredible amount, but on Tuesday 31 August this dream could become a reality for one lucky postcode as part of the People’s Postcode Lottery’s European Postcode Millions. Best of all, CHILDREN 1ST is set to receive thousands from the proceeds of ticket sales.
The prize pot, coming from charity lottery People’s Postcode Lottery, is a joint initiative by lottery heads in Great Britain and Holland, with playing postcodes across the two countries entering the draw in a battle of the nations for a share of the prize.
Charity ambassadors and TV favourites Angus Purden and Jean Johansson took to the beach to publicise the prize. They hope the pull of such a huge prize pot – the largest in the subscription-based People’s Postcode Lottery’s history – will increase the amount of money going to the charities supported by the organisation.
Jean explained “With 40p from every ticket going directly to charities, the European Postcode Millions not only allows players a chance of winning a life-changing amount of money but also means the charities supported in all September draws will benefit hugely.”
With almost £9 million raised for good causes to date, CHILDREN 1ST will be one of five charities prospering from the draw, along with Missing People (in Scotland), Northumberland Wildlife Trust, People’s Postcode Trust and WWF Scotland.
The prize pot will be drawn on Tuesday 31 August with a sign up deadline of Friday 13 August – please visit www.postcodelottery.com to enter to win your share of this awe-inducing prize!
