Ladies limber up for CHILDREN 1ST
Tuesday 24 July 2012
Fitness Chicks, who run women-only exercise classes in Edinburgh, will be celebrating the opening of their new studio by holding an open day event on Sunday (29 July) to raise money for children’s charity CHILDREN 1ST.
The event is open to everyone between 12 noon and 4pm at 1a Porters Walk in the Quartermile Complex. There will be a raffle and a chance to meet the famous Fitness Chicks to find out more about the wide variety of fun exercise classes and programmes on offer. If that’s not enough, guests will be waited on by dashing VIP Butlers.
All proceeds of the event will go to CHILDREN 1ST, a charity that works across Scotland to help build a brighter future for vulnerable children and families. Sarah, co-owner of Fitness Chicks, said: “We’re delighted to be raising money for CHILDREN 1ST – an organisation that’s close to our hearts. Most of the ladies who attend our classes are mothers and are keen to support a cause that protects children from abuse and neglect and which works with families so that children can enjoy a happy and safe upbringing.”

As well as holding an open day, a team of brave ladies from Fitness Chicks have signed up to participate in the RoadBlock Run for CHILDREN 1ST in September. This is a 10K running event in Holyrood Park, with fun obstacles after every kilometre. To raise money, they will be organising bake sales and staging a sponsored Zumbathon.
