Are you good enough?

Calling all competitive types. If you think you could run a marathon faster than your colleagues then why not give it a go for CHILDREN 1ST?
The childrens’ charity has a limited number of Golden Bond places for the Virgin London Marathon, but you better get your skates (or trainers) on – application closes at the end of this week (Friday 26 October).
Safeguarding in Sport, one of the charity’s national services, is asking sporty types – and those who like a bit of healthy competition with colleagues – to consider taking on the feat.
Campbell Bell, service manager, said: “Before I joined CHILDREN 1ST I ran a marathon for them and the support from the fundraisers was great. Crossing the finish line makes all the effort worth it. We know, from working with sports organisations, that there are a few competitive people out there. This is a good opportunity to undertake a big personal challenge and perhaps try and get a better time than pals.”
In 2012, over 35,000 runners took part in this race along London’s famous streets and past its iconic sights. The marathon takes place on Sunday 21 April 2013.
To apply for a Golden Bond place please download the application form complete it fully and return it by post or email by Friday 26 October. Please phone on 0131 319 8068 or email running@children1st.org.uk for more details.
