Childcare vouchers help vulnerable children
11/09/2008
Parents signing up to a childcare voucher scheme are helping vulnerable and disadvantaged children here in Scotland.
During its year-long charity partnership, money-saving childcare vouchers company KiddiVouchers has donated £1,750 - at least 5% of its profits - to CHILDREN 1ST.
How it works
KiddiVouchers is an ethical company which is committed to making childcare vouchers available to all parents. Each parent can receive up to £243 a month of tax-free childcare vouchers, usually instead of part of their taxable salary.
The vouchers can be used for many kinds of childcare, including nurseries, childminders, nannies, holiday clubs and out-of-school care. Using childcare vouchers saves each parent up to £1,200 a year in tax and national insurance, and the company currently supplies over 2,000 organisations, including A to Z Maps, Friends of the Earth and Center Parcs with childcare vouchers.
"By signing up with KiddiVouchers, parents are also supporting vulnerable children in Scotland".
Lou Lanos, corporate accounts manager at CHILDREN 1ST, said: "We're thrilled at the success of this partnership and are so grateful to KiddiVouchers for their continued support."
"We know that childcare can be a real struggle for parents and are delighted to benefit from the support of an organisation aiming at making childcare as accessible and efficient as possible. By signing up with KiddiVouchers, parents are also supporting vulnerable children in Scotland."
Alison Chalmers, managing director of KiddiVouchers, added: "KiddiVouchers is delighted to be able to make a difference to children by donating to CHILDREN 1ST. We like our charitable donations to reflect our client base, and as our presence in Scotland continues to grow we're proud to be helping with the welfare of Scotland's children."
