how is the service run?

ParentLine Scotland was launched in March 1999. The helpline has been run from the beginning by a team of fully trained volunteers. Without their support, there would be no service.

In addition to the helpline, ParentLine Scotland aims to raise public awareness of parenting issues and develop and distribute a range of parenting information.

The service was initially open 21 hours per week. ParentLine Scotland's opening hours have now been extended to 48 hours per week.

Volunteers complete over 40 hours of introductory training. They are asked to commit to a weekly shift 'on-line'. Regular supervision and on-going training are provided.

ParentLine Scotland is a service provided by CHILDREN 1ST.
