Rights, Advocacy & Mediation
For children and teenagers who have been identified as being "at risk", our advocates act as a welcome support as they attend Children's Hearings, child protection case conferences and other formal meetings to discuss their future.
Some of these children may have been removed from their family, and we try to support them through a very difficult time; helping them to understand why this is happening and to express their feelings, views and wishes.
Our children and young people's rights workers accompany the young person to their meetings with social workers, lawyers and the police to ensure that they are aware of what is happening to them and can have a say in the decisions affecting their future.
