Safeguarding in Sport

Useful Links

Many organisations work towards keeping children and young people safe and happy. This section is split into two categories to make it easy for you to find the information you need.

Emergency numbers should guide you to police/out-of-hours social work contact details in your region (split by local authority area). Remember that you can call them for advice if you have a child protection concern. These agencies should be involved if a child has been harmed or is at serious risk of harm.

Child Protection Committees: Good practice is all about building good relationships. Staff on your local child protection committee should know that sports plays a important role in young peoples’ lives and that your organisation or club takes children’s welfare seriously. They may be able to help with training, resources, advice or ideas.
