Young Families Outreach Project, East Lothian

With dedicated help where it is needed most, families have a better chance of making things work at home in future.
The Young Families Outreach Service provides support services to families who are vulnerable and under stress and have children aged 0 to 5 years. Staff visit families in their own homes and communities and link families into community support in their area.
The service provides individual support to parents in their own homes, family work supporting children and parents together and groups for parents of pre-school children. We give parents the tools and skills they need to feel more confident about how to handle family life.
Practical support is offered to help parents feel more confident, helping them deal with issues that are causing them stress such as managing difficult behaviour or setting routines.
