Volunteer vacancies
Mentor
Forward Directions works with young people aged 14 to 19 who are not engaging in education, training or employment.
We are looking to recruit male and female (aged 16+) mentors with life experience and with a desire to motivate and encourage young people by sharing their knowledge and experience.
Mentors will be matched with a young person. They will work together to increase self esteem, confidence and work towards the young persons goals, within school, accessing training or moving to employment.
Hours will vary but you must be able to commit up to 3 hours per week for at least a year. Volunteers will be supported by a full-time project worker, and a comprehensive induction programme will be provided.
Out of pocket expenses are reimbursed and training opportunities are provided free of charge.
Volunteers will be required to undertake an enhanced Disclosure Scotland check. References will be sought and potential candidates will be interviewed. Other volunteering opportunities may also be available within the service.
