Art / Play Therapist
Edinburgh Family Support Team provide intensive support to families with children aged 0-12 living in South East Edinburgh. We aim to improve the quality of life of children who are experiencing significant social, emotional and behavioural difficulties.
We also work to prevent exclusion from school and strengthen families through close partnership working with the family and school.
To support our therapeutic work with children we are looking to recruit a volunteer with either an Art Therapy or Play Therapy qualification; or working towards this qualification. Main tasks include:
-Ability to undertake individual therapeutic work with children
-Co-facilitate therapeutic group work with children
-Documentation of work with service users in line with CHILDREN 1ST policies and procedures
-Report child protection concerns in line with CHILDREN 1ST policies and procedures
-To contribute to the provision of services with the team
-To liaise with schools and other agencies where appropriate
-To write reports for Children’s Hearing / Child Protection Case Conferences as appropriate
-Volunteers will be required to undertake an enhanced Disclosure check. Two references will be sought and potential candidates will be interviewed.
