Fundraising & Events Assistant
Could you be our Volunteer Fundraising & Events Assistant? Are you available 9–5 on Thursdays and Fridays?
CHILDREN 1ST needs you to help make a difference to the lives of vulnerable children and young people across Scotland. We need someone who can take an admin support role within our small but busy fundraising team based in Kinning Park in Glasgow, and to help us organise our fundraising ball in March.

Why we need you: to offer office-based support to your regional fundraising team and help them to maximise their fundraising potential. Duties will be varied;
- Organising mass mailings
- Updating our database
- Speaking to supporters and helping them in their fundraising efforts
- Supporting the team in preparing for fundraising events Researching and contacting possible supporters and telling them about our work.
We are specifically looking for someone who can help us to organise our Heather Ball, which takes place in March. This element of the role will be extremely varied, and we might ask you to do anything from blowing up balloons, to setting up table gifts, to cleaning candlesticks. What’s important is an ability to get mucked in and to have fun under pressure!
Your skills and attributes:
- Some administrative experience.
- Experience of Microsoft Word and Excel packages.
- Good attention to detail.
- Good telephone manner and ability to make cold calls to potential supporters.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- An interest in the work of CHILDREN 1ST.
