Often, when parents are struggling or unable to look after their children, relatives or family friends will step in and offer to help.

However, kinship care can bring a host of challenges to both the carer and the child. The Kinship Care Service offers support, information and advice to kinship carers, so they are better equipped to meet the needs of the children and young people in their care.
