Team BROAR (a combination of the words brother and oar) is made up of the three MacLean brothers - Ewan, Lachlan and Jamie. In January they completed a record-breaking row across the Atlantic Ocean, the Talisker Whisky Atlantic challenge, to raise vital funds for children in Scotland.

Did you know more people have been into space or climbed Mount Everest than rowed across the Atlantic? BROAR rowed 3000 miles from the Canary Islands to the Caribbean, facing 40 feet waves, shark infested waters and busy shipping lanes.

They smashed an incredible three world records and are now the fastest and youngest trio to ever row the Atlantic, as well as the first three brothers to row any ocean.

We are delighted that Team BROAR have chosen to support other families in Scotland by raising funds for our Parentline service

Each mile BROAR rowed will fund Parentline to be a lifeline for families for an hour.

Parentline has been supporting parents and carers across Scotland to keep children safe and happy for 20 years. We offer a kind and skilled listening ear, seven days a week, 365 days a year. With your help, Parentline can be here for every family that needs us.

An Audience with BROAR

Join us at The Place Hotel, Edinburgh, for an evening with Team BROAR and Scotland’s leading Whisky expert, Charlie MacLean.

The evening begins with arrival drinks and canapes before you hear from Team BROAR who will be talking all about their incredible 3000 mile row across the Atlantic.

You will then be treated to a fantastic Whisky tasting experience, led by Whisky expert, Charlie MacLean.

Tickets cost £20 and can be booked via Eventbrite. Come and raise a dram to these amazing brothers!

Take on the Beat BROAR challenge!

We're asking people to sign up and show their support for BROAR's incredible achievement by pledging to row the distance they had to row every day.

Form a team and row either 50 miles or 75 miles in a relay. Ask your friends, family and colleagues to sponsor you to raise money for Children 1st.
