Free legal services

Free will service – with McClure Solicitors

FamilyMaking a will is one of the most important things that you can do to ensure that your family is taken care of when you are no longer here. With this in mind, Children 1st has partnered with McClure Solicitors to offer our supporters a free will preparation service.

What’s the catch? Well there isn’t one! If you take up this free offer, all we ask is that you please consider making a donation to help vulnerable children and families across Scotland.

McClure will prepare your will free of charge – a service which usually costs £150 for a single client and £240 for a couple.

Using the services of McClure Solicitors means that your wishes will be honoured in full without any confusion. It also means that your estate will be administered more quickly and with less expense.

You might also consider leaving a legacy to Children 1st – but of course that is up to you.

We rely on voluntary donations to allow us to continue our work. It doesn’t matter how much you donate – an individual donation may be small but lots of people have already taken up McClure’s free will offer, raising very substantial sums for charity.

Free will review service

It is important to have your will reviewed by a professional experienced in will writing. How do you know whether your will is of good quality or even if it is valid? Our partnership with McClure Solicitors also offers a free will review service.

McClure will review your will free of charge and advise whether it is adequate or needs amended, or indeed replaced altogether. If you need a new will, McClure can provide this under their free will scheme.

Using the services of McClure Solicitors means that you can be sure that your will is valid, covers your whole estate and is up to date.

Half-price power of attorney service

Power of attorney lets someone you trust look after you and your affairs if you are not able to do so.

Without a power of attorney your family might need to go to court which is expensive and takes a long time.

McClure will prepare your power of attorney for just £180 instead of the usual £360. All you need to do is consider making a donation to help support Children 1st.
