Alison joined Children 1st as Director of Children and Family Services in 2005 and was appointed Chief Executive in 2014.
Alison's early career started in community education, residential care and community development in Tayside and Angus. She then moved to Glasgow to become ChildLine Scotland's counselling Manager. Moving to the north of England, Alison held a post with the NSPCC as both a ChildLine Services Manager then as Assistant Director ChildLine/NSPCC for north of England. During this period she was seconded to become ChildLine workstream leader in the helpline development programme for the NSPCC.
Outside of work Alison has been a Children's Panel member in Scotland, Homestart volunteer and involved with the Girl Guide movement.
