In Safe Hands workshop

This three-hour workshop supports clubs to put child protection policies into practice.

It is most suitable for those acting as the club child protection officer but is also relevant for those responsible for managing or organising the club. You can download the current In Safe Hands calendar which details courses and providers.

The course aims to:

  • provide participants with core knowledge and the opportunity to develop skills in fulfilling their role as club child protection officer
  • help clubs implement practices and procedures to keep children and young people safe.

By the end of the workshop participants will be able to:

  • describe the role of the child protection officer and the relationship with key personnel in child protection.
  • identify and plan action required by the club to protect children and young people.

On completion, attendees will receive a certificate. Participants attending this workshop should have first attended a basic awareness course in child protection such as the sports coach UK ‘Safeguarding and Protecting Children’ or equivalent.
