‘Thanks for giving children in Scotland reasons to smile’ charity tells players of Postcode Lottery
Children 1st, Scotland’s national children’s charity, has thanked players of the People’s Postcode Lottery for enabling it to support children and families across Scotland through difficult times. This year players have raised £575,000 in support of Children 1st's work across the country.
Barbara Kidd, Children 1st Head of Fundraising Development, said: “Thanks to the players we’ve been able to give more hands-on support to families under stress in Scotland than would otherwise have been possible. We’re also better able to support the recovery of children and young people who’ve been affected by abuse, neglect or other traumatic experiences; helping them to express their feelings and make sense of what’s happened.”
Clara Govier, Head of Charities at People’s Postcode Lottery, said: “Children 1st gives children going through difficult times a better chance of growing up happy, healthy, safe and secure. That’s why we’ve been proud to support its work across Scotland with more than £3.6 million in total raised by players for Children 1st alone since 2008.”
