The raffle thats worth its weight in gold
Children 1st has launched a short film showing world renowned goldsmith Dr Malcolm Appleby MBE working on his beautiful ‘Otter and Waterlilies’ bangle.
The beautiful hand engraved, golden bangle could be yours this November - and all for the simple price of a £1 raffle ticket.
The now famous Banchory Bangle has been designed and created every year since the 1970s by Dr Appleby to raise funds for Children 1st. Over the years the raffle of this exquisite bangle has raised well over £130,000 for Scotland’s national children’s charity. The winning raffle ticket will be drawn at this year’s Touch of Tartan Ball on Friday 20 November 2015.
Lady Stephen, chair of the Touch of Tartan committee, said: “It’s inspiring to get an insight into how Malcolm Appleby creates these gorgeous and truly unique works of art. He is a master craftsman and requests for raffle tickets for his Banchory Bangle have come from as far away as Australia. “
Expert engraver, Dr Appleby has had engraving work commissioned for Downing Street and Bute House. Each piece he creates is a stunning work of art, and is highly sought after. If you would like a chance to own this unique and highly desirable piece of jewellery, tickets to win this year’s prestigious Banchory Bangle are on sale via the Wee Boorachie in Banchory or call Children 1st on 01224 251152.
First prize in the raffle is the elegant 18 carat gold bangle plus a silver replica, second prize is a silver copy and third prize is an exclusive pair of cufflinks.
The charity puts children first, with practical advice and with support in difficult times. And when the worst happens, they support survivors of abuse, neglect, and other traumatic events in childhood, to recover.
