Children and Young People (Scotland) Act 2014
The Children and Young People (Scotland) Act became law in March 2014.
During the Bill process we successfully lobbied for a range of measures and amendments to be included in the legislation to better reflect the rights and needs of vulnerable children and young people across Scotland.
We are currently engaging with the Scottish Government about the development and implementation of guidance and secondary legislation, which sets out how the Act will work in practice.
- Children 1st, Aberlour and Barnardo's Response to complaints concerning functions relating to the Named Person and Child's Plan (October 2015)
- Children 1st, Aberlour and Barnardo's response to Order for services in relation to children at risk of becoming looked after (October 2015)
- Response to statutory guidance on Parts 4, 5 and 18 (Section 96) of the Children and Young People (Scotland) Act (May 2015)
