Family Support Worker - Maternity Cover


Children 1st work to give every child in Scotland a safe and secure childhood.  We achieve this by providing direct services to vulnerable children and their families across Scotland.

This is an exciting opportunity to join our team in Dundee and help us to deliver on our vision to help children in Scotland live in safe loving families and build strong communities.

We are looking for a family support worker to work alongside children and their families who are experiencing challenging circumstances. Someone who is able to work in a family-minded way with a restorative, relational approach to build on capacity by strengthening family relationships, resolving conflict and repairing harm.

You will provide focused individual and group work alongside families in their own homes with children at school and the wider community. You will also support better recognition of the impact of problematic substance misuse for children.

If you are an experienced professional with a SVQ level 3/HNC or equivalent in Child Care/Social Care or a related area, we want to hear from you.

Further Information

This is a fixed term, full time post of 35 hours per week to cover a period of maternity leave until October 2020. Hours to be worked flexibly to suit the needs of the service (evenings and occasional weekends as required).
