Sessional Support Worker
Glasgow

Children 1st is Scotland’s National Children’s Charity. We help Scotland’s families to put children first, with practical advice and with support in difficult times. And when the worst happens, we support survivors of abuse, neglect, and other traumatic events in childhood, to recover.

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a new service providing support to children, young people and their families in the community where substance misuse has played a role in all their lives.

We are looking to recruit further sessional support staff to work alongside Project Workers, helping support the development of targeted group work for children and young people particularly through local Recovery Cafes. There may also be an opportunity to get alongside families to offer practical and emotional support as part of an agreed support package.

We would be interested in hearing from people with lived experience who feel they are in position in their own recovery to help others.

Further Information

This sessional role is funded until March 2020.

Sessional staff are required during the day Mon-Fri for various groups and also on a Friday night to help support an early evening group for children. There will also on occasion be additional evening and weekend working by negotiation.
