Children 1st welcomes Fiona Duncan's appointment to Chair of the Promise Oversight Board
The Scottish Government has announced that Fiona Duncan, Chair of The Care Review, has been appointed Chair of the Promise Oversight Board.
Children 1st welcomes Fiona's appointment and we look forward to her leadership as Scotland works to #KeepThePromise.
Mary Glasgow, Chief Executive, Children 1st said: “We are delighted to hear that Fiona Duncan will lead the Promise Oversight Board to ensure that the recommendations of the Independent Care Review are realised. Under Fiona’s leadership, the Independent Care Review set out a clear and compelling vision for a transformed system of care for children with love and nurture at its heart, called the Promise.”
“With Fiona leading the next stage of that work, we have renewed confidence that the Promise will be kept. We will do all we can can to support Fiona and her team to ensure that every child’s right to be safe and loved in their own families and communities wherever possible is honoured. Our work at Children 1st – from our local family wellbeing services to the development of the Bairnshoose – is focused on achieving that vision. We look forward to continuing to work with Fiona and others to keep the promise to children, young people and their families.”
